The high educational levels of women in kerala are probably one of the most influencing factors in all spheres of life. Due to educational standards being high in the state, the approach to life in general is also different compared to other states in the country. The women in Kerala have access to utilization of health care and this applicable for women with children because they are able to provide better financial and social conditions to these kids. There has been a notable achievement of women's health in the state, as compared to the other states. It has been seen that over 90 of the deliveries take place under institutional care whereas here. Also while 60% of the deliveries are not institutionalized so far, the rate of maternal morality in the state has comedown sharply. It is the impact of education which has bought about these changes. Also the women here are more aware about raising children the healthier way and providing them with the apt care and nutrition. .jpg)
Statistics show that the female life expectancy in Kerala is 74 years, and this is 15 years higher compared to Indian average. Also both girl children and women have access to the health care system and the rates of immunization of girls, are as high as those of boys. The girl child literacy and education are crucial determinants for survival, general health and hygiene and the women here are able to provide the children with the same. The expectancy of life at birth, the birth and death rates, mortality rates for infant, etc. are much better than other states. Since all girls in Kerala above the age of six can read and write, the care of children is not much of an issue here.
The state has a great educational policy which ensures that all children are provided with education at basic levels. Also there are various care centers and health management centers for taking care of the health needs of these children. Women planning out their pregnancies also ensure that these women produce healthier children and take better care of them also. Thus children of this state are able to secure higher standards of health and education at different levels. There is also no discrimination on the basis of gender or the ratio for the same is almost negligible and hence the girl child enjoys the same benefits like the boy child.
