 Due to high educational standards in the state of Kerala, women here enjoy certain financial privileges that most women in this country lack. This benefit is the right to enjoy her financial abilities and benefits that many women in this country cannot achieve. The women here have enjoyed the benefit of getting education in spite of their caste and creed. Due to the provision of this basic level of education women are more confident about the life and career choices that they want to make. The support of the government has a vital role here and so does the family because highly educated women are regarded as a symbol of dignity and self respect.
With provisions for basic and higher education most women in the state are able to enjoy financial freedom unlike other women in the country. The women here are provided basic levels of education for free and hence even the farmers and small scale cottage industry workers can evaluate their skills and business potentials. As a result of this they are able to commercialize their commodities and attain better standards of living through financial institutions. Being aware of their rights also helps these women to avoid frauds and injustice against them.
Most of the women in the state also prefer marriages at later age so that they are able to complete higher education. This also helps them and provides ample time to pursue their careers. As a result of the same these women are financially independent and are able to earn as much, if not more, than their spouses and father. Finance and the role of Kerala women are interrelated and there are various sectors in the industry which are dominated by women. These women enjoy the same status in the financial sector as compared to men. Women here have marked their presence in different sectors like banking, trading, businesses, service sectors and all possible areas of finance. The women here benefit from being provided equal rights and there are various schemes and loan provisions for women, provided by the state, so that they can enjoy these privileges. The state tries to ensure that the women here are able to lead lives of self sustenance and financial freedom and hence it has also launched various several programs for enhancing the same. These benefits provide women here with opportunities to enjoy and pursue her career along with the added financial reimbursement.
